Tracker is an image and video analysis package built on the Open Source Physics (OSP) Java framework. Features include object tracking with position, velocity and acceleration overlays and graphs, special effect filters, multiple reference frames, calibration points and line profiles for analysis of spectra and interference patterns. It is designed to be used in introductory college physics labs and lectures.

Instructions

  1. With this ReadMe you should find folders videos, images and xml, and files Tracker.jar and tracker_sampler.jar.
  2. Double-click Tracker.jar to run Tracker. Tracker.jar is self-contained, so you can copy and run it from any folder.
  3. Double-click tracker_sampler.jar to see a sample collection of Tracker video experiments. Note: tracker_sampler.jar requires the videos folder.
  4. The xml folder contains the xml data files (*.trk) for the sample collection of video experiments. If desired, these can be opened directly by Tracker (to load the data) or by a text editor (to view the xml).
  5. Many more mechanics and optics videos are available for download on the Tracker web site. Please use them freely for educational purposes only.
  6. Tracker Help is available on the web or from Tracker's Help menu.
